Sunsuper makes a splash with Libby Lenton
Australian swim star, Libby Lenton, is set to star in the pool again, but this time, for superannuation company Sunsuper. Lenton features in a new television and outdoor campaign for Sunsuper which is an extension of the highly successful Sunsuper ‘Simple’ campaign launched in 2005. Created by BCM, the television commercial features Lenton in the familiar surrounds of a swimming pool but her swim cap and goggles are traded for an air mattress – with Libby relaxing in the pool while Sunsuper looks after her superannuation. In one of the first commercial endorsement deals for Lenton, who won 5 Gold Medals and 2 Silver Medals at the recent Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, the campaign taps into her down-to-earth personality and trademark smile. Teifi Whatley, General Manager, Marketing, Communication & Education for Sunsuper said “We’ve been talking with Libby since late last year, and it’s been exciting to watch the continued success she’s had over this time. Libby is one of the highest profile athletes in the country at the moment and we are extremely excited to have her on board. Her approachable nature and infectious smile really personify the Sunsuper brand in every respect.” BCM Partner Paul Cornwell said “We resisted the typical celebrity endorsement with this campaign and instead have represented the perspective of most everyday Australians. Which is, they don’t think about their superannuation much because they’re busy getting on with their lives. This is the underlying thought behind the Sunsuper campaign which we’ve continued in this campaign featuring Libby.” The television advertising is on air in Queensland from July 2 and nationally on Qantas in-flight television. It is supported by direct mail, website and a range of outdoor including bus shelter panels, bus side panels and railway station panels Campaign credits: Agency Partner - Paul CornwellCreative Director - Greville Patterson Writer - Deb Enright Art Director - Tony Sutton Account Co-ordinator - Sarah Holliday |
